Heritage Center
Located on Main Street in Milbank, our Heritage Center & Cheese Shop invites visitors to take a step back in time and learn about the founding and 91-year history of Valley Queen. These interactive displays showcase many important aspects of our business – from our proud Swiss heritage to the highly automated processes that bring our products to life.
Once you’ve finished your tour, be sure to stop by the counter to sample our delicious cheeses, and maybe take a block or two home to share!
Our Heritage Center is now OPEN! Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Saturday 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

A 501(c)3 charitable organization, the Valley Queen Charitable Foundation strives to advance positive change by supporting organizations and initiatives that have a community, educational, industry or humanitarian focus.

scholarships
From the management to the milk haulers, the vast majority of Valley Queen employees were educated in South Dakota schools. Valley Queen understands the importance of a quality education and is a long-time supporter of many of our state’s educational institutions.
Milbank Education Foundation – Valley Queen Cheese Factory Scholarship – $2,500.00
Established in 2000, this scholarship is available to Milbank High School Graduates. The scholarship is funded by employee and corporate donations to the Milbank Education Foundation.
South Dakota State University
Dairy Science Scholarship
Established in 1970, this scholarship is available to juniors and seniors majoring in Dairy Science at South Dakota State University, with preferences given to students whose hometowns are in northeast South Dakota.
South Dakota State University
First Year Student Scholarship
Established in 2002, this scholarship is geared towards a preference of Milbank High School graduates who are interested in the Dairy Science Major at South Dakota State University.
